  • Ensure a culture which promotes and protects members’ safety.
  • Advocate for safety at the local, state, and national level.
  • Provide relevant training and training information to riders and ride leaders.
Rider
  • Arrive to rides on time and ensure your bike is in good working order.
  • Have all the necessary equipment and supplies for the ride.
  • Understand the responsibilities for participating in a group ride.
  • Obey all applicable traffic and club rules.
  • Always be aware of your surroundings and ride in a safe manner.
  • Communicate with other riders and the ride leader. 
  • Follow instructions from the ride leader.
Ride Leader
  • Ensure you know the experience and abilities of all riders in your group.
  • Provide ride safety information relevant to the particular ride before riding.
  • Know the route.
  • Lead by example in the way you ride and communicate.
  • Provide feedback on issues arising during the ride at an appropriate time.
  • When possible, solicit and provide post ride feedback with individual riders.
  • Ensure new routes and changes to routes consider rider safety.
