Phil Jones

I have been a biker since about 5 years old.

I have belonged to bike clubs in Louisville, Ky, Guam, Baltimore, Charleston, WV, Destin, Fl, St Pete Fl and here in the area with Villiage Idiots and Steers and Beers.

I have been with SMBC as a member since 2012 and the Treasurer in the past.

I attend most long bike clubs rides as CycleFest, Wheels and Wings, Piggies Revenge and Ride for Tiny Town and Team Tony.

There is a spot on the board for a person to work with the ride leaders. I certified as a ride leader many years ago.

I am semi retired and a Medicare Broker.

Wherever I go i preach and practice good bike etiquette.

I have given up asking folks to wear helmets. I wish they did.

My favorite phrase is “put on your helmet before you put on your bike’.

I ride with the club most days of the week mostly with ride leaders Jim Haley and Jeff Flagg. My most fun ride now is ‘love the loop’.

I also ride with a mountain bike group at Balm Boyette and Alafia. But I like Carlton Reserve, Babcock preserve, Duette preserve and Starkey preserve.

Thank you.

I'm Pat Morris and I have been an active member of SMBC since 2018, when my husband and I relocated to Florida from Massachusetts. I have always been an avid cyclist riding on the Cape Cod Rail Trail and  now typically ride with SMBC a dozen times each month.

I have volunteered for SMBC by working for Cyclefest, usually clean up duty, several times. I also recently volunteered for the SMBC membership booth at Waterside.

I am a retired physician (diagnostic radiology) and I volunteered for Breast Cancer awareness activities and publicity activities for services provided by Lahey Clinic. In addition  to clinical duties at Lahey, I was the director of radiology at Lahey branches and lead physician for the Lahey contract for radiology services at the Boston VA.

I am willing to help the club in any capacity. I would be willing to be social director or help with membership. I would like to see the club grow in membership and strengthen social activities, such as hot dog or ice cream rides. They are a great way to meet people and make friends.

SMBC is a wonderful bicycle club.  My goal, if elected to the board, is for SMBC to continue to be the premier club in the region for cyclists with a wide range of interests and abilities.  I would like to be considered to be on the board of SMBC.

I have been a member of SMBC for three years and have served as a Ride Leader and Volunteer Coordinator for CycleFest. I am usually present at the club rides on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday mornings.

The reason I am running is because the current Treasurer has held the position for four years and is choosing not to run again at this time. This is the role that I am willing to fill.

I am licensed in Florida as a CPA and also as a Real Estate Agent and feel I have sufficient qualifications to fulfill this role.

My husband and I moved to Florida in 2014 when he retired. We met on a bike ride and were married 30 years. He passed away rather unexpectedly from ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease) three years ago

My little dog and I live in Ruskin, and I am active in my church and also as a voluntary reading teacher at the elementary school.

My desire is to support SMBC and keep the club alive and healthy to the best of my ability.
